چکیده

Abstract Purpose: Individuals with a concussion history are more likely to sustain subsequent concussions and/or musculoskeletal injuries. Underlying mechanisms unclear; reaction time (RT) deficits associated anxiety may play an important role. The primary aim of this study was determine if and recent predict functional RT (i.e., head protective, jump landing) under single dual-task conditions. Methods: 40 participants (concussion:healthy = 20:20; since 11.8 months) completed the State–Trait Anxiety Inventory, ratings before after each task, performed tasks. We used virtual reality environment motion capture laboratory collect RTs for protective landing, respectively. Participants assessments both single-task “Focus solely on completing task as quickly possible”) “Subtract accurately possible you await your visual stimulus”) Instructions gave equal weight speed accuracy. All were calculated (ms) from onset stimuli first movement ≥3 cm hands (head protective) or sacral body (jump landing). A series linear regression models determined independent variables predicted RTs. Results: Regression did not explain significant proportion variance in (single- R2 0.05; p 0.78; dual- 0.09; 0.49), landing 0.21; 0.08; 0.12; 0.32) Conclusions: In low sample, do clinical times at twelve-months post-concussion. If these differences exist, they resolved by time.

Repeatability of Ground Reaction Force during Jump-Landing in Volleyball Players with Functional Ankle Instability

Background and Aims: The accurate mechanisms of ankle instability cannot be assessed in the absence of reliable knowledge about ground reaction force (GRF) variables. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the test-retest reliability of GRF variables during forward and lateral jump-landing in volleyball players with functional ankle instability (FAI). Methods: Eighteen professional volle...
